Jesus-Haus is a house of Prayer for all Nations. Established officially in January 2005 but carried long before that in the hearts of the founders, the vision of the house is to be a dwelling place for the Lord and a place of encounter with Him.
Worship is our foundation and our canopy – from the beginning, worship has been the main focus with prayer, intercession and teaching flowing out of that.
Jesus-Haus, house of prayer seeks to be:
An Altar of Worship: a place of devotion before the Lord.
A Well of Encounter: a place of breakthrough, healing and transformation
A Gathering Place: a place for God’s people (local, regional, national and international) to gather in God’s presence for God’s glory
A Training Centre: a place of teaching, training and discipleship, rooted in the word
Jesus-Haus is also a guest house. We welcome guests from all over the world to join us for worship, prayer, rest, refreshing and fellowship.
Christliches Zentrum Herrnhut has been an independent congregation since 1999. Before this we operated as a charismatic prayer group for over 20 years. We are an Evangelical congregation but do not belong to a larger denomination (such as Lutheran, Baptist or Pentecostal). It is very important to us to be in good relationship with other churches. As hosts here in the Jesus-Haus, we have a heart for Christians of all denominations, traditions and backgrounds. We remain in close relationship with many good friends and congregations in Germany as well as other nations. We identify with churches in the charismatic movement and operate in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, healing, prophecy, and praying in tongues.
The Sunday service is at the center of church life. Throughout the week, we also meet in several groups and ministry branches that each focus on a specific age group or topic.
Sunday Service
Every Sunday at 10 am we meet together to celebrate God’s goodness and to express our love and thankfulness to Him. We sing, pray and hear a positive, Biblical message that helps us to live out God’s Word in our everyday life. People from diverse nations and of all ages can be found each week enjoying the free, celebratory atmosphere. Our children meet in smaller groups during the sermon time.
House Groups
One of the ways we live out our community life is through our weekly house groups. In these smaller clusters of eight to fifteen people, we have the opportunity to share our everyday lives together and to grow in our relationship with God. The individual house groups each have a specific focus, such as mission, evangelization, or in-depth Bible study.
Children’s Ministry
God has placed a calling on the life of every child: to know Him and to make Him known. In each child there is a great potential, and it is imperative to discover it. Through everything we do in our children’s ministry, we want to make sure that the children get to know God and His word, that they begin to speak to Him and hear from Him, and that they learn how to follow Jesus
Women’s Breakfast
Every three or four months, women from Herrnhut and the surrounding towns come for Women’s Breakfast. We often have around 30 women from various congregations here to enjoy the beautifully decorated tables, delicious food and the opportunity to chat. Following our meal, one of the women from the group or a special guest will share a bit of her own testimony. We always come away challenged and encouraged to hear how God has worked in another’s personal life experiences.
Israel Prayer Group
For several years, an inter-denominational group has been meeting together each week to pray for Israel. Our theme Bible verse is:
“I have posted watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the Lord, give yourselves no rest, and give Him no rest, until He establishes Jerusalem and makes her a praise in the earth.” (Isaiah 62:6–7)
